464: The Roll of that Monday Mule

I started sending these emails back in July of last year. I made a promise to myself, and to you, that I’d show up once a week. Since then, we’ve been rocking along—up and down, in and out, through the thick and the thin. Aint that some shit !

I’ll be honest with you: this is the damnest thing I’ve ever done, trying to find the right words for my fans every single week. But here we are again. Another Monday, another reckoning.

If this journey has taught me one thing, it’s that Mondays roll around a whole lot faster than you think they would. Every time they do, that same old question sits on my shoulder: What do I even send? Is there even an answer to that? I don’t know. I don’t know if anybody ever truly could. It’s a strange thing, this itch to communicate, to put a piece of yourself out there and wonder if it lands. Maybe we shouldn't give a damn. Maybe the "what" doesn't matter as much as the "why."

But in the meantime, I just keep on keeping on. That’s the only way I know how to live.

Now, I’m looking to crack the code and grow this thing. I’ve got a number in my head—30,000 names on this list. I pulled that number right out of a hat, but why not? In the grand scheme of souls out there, that ain't many fans at all.

I don’t know what to think about it yet, so I’m just going to. Let’s get busy.
