462: Frost on the Bloom March 12, 2026

You can never say quite enough about this crazy Alabama weather. Just when you think you’ve shook the chill, she puts the covers back on ya.

I stepped out for my walk this morning and the air had a bite to it—a lot cooler than it’s been trailing lately. I had to layer up, throwing on the jacket over the hoodie just to get my stride right and keep the blood moving. It’s a strange kind of harmony out here right now. On one hand, you’ve got that winter sting lingering in the shadows; on the other, you’ve got the spring waking up in spite of it all.

The Beauty in the Bite

I looked over at the peach trees, and man, they are looking good. They’re bursting wide open, pink and white against that grey sky. Everything is in bloom, reaching out for the sun like praying.

We’re just a few days shy of Spring officially hitting the calendar, but the earth is already singing lead.

It’s that restless time of year where the seasons are fighting for the microphone.

A Note to the World

I don't know where you find yourself standing today or what corner of the world you’re calling home. But whoever you are, listen:

It’s the 12th of March. It’s cold, it’s beautiful, and we’re still here to see it.

Let’s not just let the clock tick—let’s make the most of it. There’s music in the cool air if you listen close enough.

Stay soulful my Brothas and Sistas,

The Alabama Blues Man
