400: Back at The Coppertop: Where the Blues Still Breathe

Yeah, I swung through The Coppertop tonight. Dropped in to slap up a few more posters for the Saturday night show with the Molasses Blues Band — stir the pot, keep the fire warm. It was a Monday, but the spot was lively. Trivia on deck. Folks laughin’, drinkin’, vibin’. That’s what I love about that place — it’s got its own pulse.

The Coppertop’s always had that neighborhood soul. Ain’t fancy, but it’s real. A warm little dive bar where the beer’s ice cold, the wings hit right, and the energy hugs you at the door. That’s what you call a natural market — a place that don’t need gimmicks ‘cause it’s already got a heart.

I’ve played that joint before — back in the day with my old band, Chicken Bone Reunion. Been a minute, though. Years, even. But this Saturday? I’m bringin’ the whole damn vibe back.

We’re takin’ the Molasses Blues Band into The Coppertop — and we ain’t holdin’ back.

We’re talkin’ thick, slow-burning blues that creeps into your bones. Harp wailin’. Bass groovin’. Drums hittin’ like a preacher with a grudge. It’s gonna be one of those nights you feel more than you hear.

And yeah — maybe someone’ll catch a glimpse of that poster while they’re chuggin’ a pint or tryin’ to win trivia night. Maybe they’ll think, “Damn, I remember Molasses. That cat could blow.” Maybe they’ll show up Saturday night, pull up a chair, and get washed in sound.

You ever been to The Coppertop?

They got lemon pepper wings so good they’ll make you forget your ex name. Cold beer on tap. And this weekend? They’ll have live blues thick enough to pour over biscuits.

So come through. Saturday night. Huntsville, Alabama. The Coppertop.
Let’s get crunk. Let’s get sweaty. Let’s get back to what music’s supposed to feel like.
