Yep, snow in Alabama. That’s what I woke up to this morning—blanket of white quieting everything down. Now, if you’re from somewhere that gets snow every winter, you’re probably thinking, “Big deal.” But let me tell you, down here, snow is a big deal. We’re not built for it.
Folks been gearing up for this little storm like it’s the end of days. For three days straight, the grocery stores looked like a hurricane coming through. Bread? Gone. Milk? Don’t even ask. The way people were prepping, you’d think we were about to hunker down for a week. And what did we get? About three, maybe four inches. Enough to shut the county down, though.

Country Roads, Snowed Over
Out here in the sticks, where I’m living—Swancott Road, to be exact—they don’t plow the roads right away. They’ll hit the highways first, leave us country folks to fend for ourselves. So now, it’s just me, the snow, and this stillness. Nothing moving. Not a car. Not a soul. It’s peaceful in a way, but damn if it doesn’t make you feel stranded.
I figure the sun’ll come out soon enough, melt this mess off, and we can get back to life. But for now, we wait. Ain’t no use risking life and limb on these icy backroads just ‘cause you’re stir-crazy. Better to ride it out, stay warm, and stay safe.

How’s the Weather Where You’re At?
Drop me a line and let me know. Until then, stay safe, stay warm, and if you’re driving on these roads—bless you.
