373: 2025 Burning the Old and Breathing the New

Here we are, 2025. Feels good to be alive, don’t it? I started this year off with fire—literal fire. Burnin’ trash, old papers, and last year’s baggage, watching it all curl into smoke and drift away. Something about burning things clears the air, both inside and out. While I was at it, I thought, hell, why not burn some yard trash too? Ain’t nothing like the freedom of country life to let you do that.

Out here, the air tastes fresher, and the world feels wide. I’ve spent my share of time in the city—seen its highs, its hustle, its shine—but I’m always itching to come back to the land. There’s a peace in these dirt roads and open fields that just hits right. This year, I’m thinking of digging deeper. Maybe a garden. Maybe some real outdoor work.

What I know for sure is that the country slows you down just enough to feel life again. You notice the way the sun warms your skin, or how the wind whispers through the trees. Even the sounds—frogs croaking, crickets singing—remind you the world is alive. It’s all a kind of magic, one I’ve grown to love more than ever.

So what about you? Do you find joy in the country life? Or does the city vibe move you? Let’s talk about it. What kind of vibe makes your soul sing?
