369: The Reason for my Actions ?

Sometimes, you gotta be your own damn cheerleader. Life throws hardballs, and lately, I’ve been feeling the weight of change. Kids grown up. Empty nest. Standing at the edge of my retirement years, staring into the unknown like a cowboy. It ain’t easy, but let me tell you—motivation? That’s the fire that keeps the Blues wheel turning, keeps me from sitting still too long and rusting up like a old pickup truck.

Motivation is all about reason for action. Why do you do what you do? Why get out of bed in the morning when it’s easy to hit snooze and hide back under the covers? For me, it’s about keeping life interesting, finding new songs to sing, new stories to tell. I got plenty on my plate—projects, dreams, ideas swirling around- the trick is setting priorities.

This time of year, rolling from one calendar to the next, it’s like flipping a page in the book of life. Feels heavy, doesn’t it? Maybe you’re like me, feeling that shift. No little feet running around, no loud chaos in the house to remind you of what’s next. It’s quiet now. And that quiet can mess with your head if you let it.

But here’s the thing, : you can sit in that quiet and let it weigh you down, or you can use it to hear yourself think. To figure out what matters. Why you do what you do. The fire’s still there, even if it burns a little slower now.

So yeah, I write these blogs for me. To remind myself to keep moving, to keep dreaming. To set my sights on what lights me up. That’s what motivation does—it pulls you forward, even when the road’s long and dusty.

Here’s my question for you: Do you have clear reasons for your actions? What’s keeping your wheels turning? Drop me a line—I’d love to hear what fires you up these days.
