Let me tell you about this ol’ bike of mine. She’s been with me since around 2005, maybe longer. Wasn’t shiny and new when I got her, but a buddy in Huntsville, Al fixed it up just right. Back in the day, I was riding it all over. Had a bike rack on my car, hit different trails, and let the wind blow me across town. Those were good times.
But you know how life goes—sometimes you put things down and don’t pick ‘em back up for a while. This bike’s seen a lot of years parked. I think the last time I rode it was maybe three, five years ago. Just the other day, I had the urge to give it another spin.

And let me tell you—once I got going, my knees started singing a new tune. Felt like that ride shook the rust off my old joints. At 60, you don’t move quite like you used to, but that don’t mean you stop moving. Turns out, getting your body in motion brings all kinds of benefits, especially as the years add up
So here I am, dusting off my Shiki, airing up the tires, and getting ready to ride again. But wouldn’t you know it—soon as I hop on, the chain snaps! That old rusty chain gave out. Ain’t that just life? Gotta fix her up again, but I’m not giving up. She’s been good to me, and I reckon she’s got a few more miles left to give.

What about you? Got an old bike gathering dust in your garage, or maybe something else you’ve set aside? Think it’s time to bring it back and see what it can do for you? Let’s hear your story in the comments below—what’s keeping your wheels turning these days?
