329: Crypto is old school , Don't let it fool you !

Check this shit out !. One of my friends, young and full of ambition, had this wild ass dream of starting his own cologne line. Yep, you heard that right—a whole perfume business. So, of course, I decided to help him. We were young, had big dreams, and absolutely no clue what the hell we were doing. We rented out a fancy office downtown, spent way too much fucking money on chemicals, and dove headfirst into the world of scents.

It was a crazy ride, and though it didn’t last long before we had to shut it down, that spark of ambition stayed in my nose. And a little while later, another friend came up with a different idea—starting a  Barter and trade exchange. This wasn’t your typical business; it was a barter exchange, where people could trade their surplus goods instead of using cold, hard American dollars. That creates a new currency called "barter dollars." It's still goes on today .

Now, let me tell you—this wasn’t just some side hustle. This shit is real. I worked with the company, and my paycheck? It was half barter dollars and half U.S. dollars. So, I’d spend half my money within the exchange, always on the lookout for new members, fresh businesses joining in. We had tire shops, beauty salons, restaurants—you name it. It was growing, and it was an exciting time. We learned a lot .

You’d just walk into a shop, flash your barter dollar card, and get what you needed, no cash exchanged hands. The more members we got into the system, the more it grew. We all wanted more people in the exchange because the bigger it got, the more options we all had. We did pretty well for ourselves, and it was an eye-opener to see how a community could operate on a different kind of currency.

And that brings me to today’s world of alt currencies and crypto. It ain’t that different, really. Crypto is just another form of currency outside the traditional system, a way for folks to trade, invest, and operate without the middleman. It’s all about creating value and trading within a community, just like we did back in the barter exchange days.

So whether you’re trading in barter dollars, crypto, or something else, the concept remains the same—it’s about people coming together, building something that works for them, outside the usual rules. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that sometimes those outside-the-box ideas end up being the ones that change the game.

Keep your eyes open, folks. The future’s here, and it’s got a whole lot of possibilities.
