323: I'm still here !

Some days, I just don’t know what to say. Like today, thinking about this "Diary of a Bluesman," and how sometimes I just don’t know what should go in here. Yesterday, I was talking to a good friend of mine. She lives down in Texas. I hadn’t heard from her in a long time, and I was a little concerned, so I figured I’d check in and say hello.

We got to chatting, and she asked how I’ve been doing. “Fine,” I told her. Then she said something that caught me off guard: “Well, let me look.” Before I knew it, she was already typing away on her computer. “You’re always connected,” I said with a laugh. She pulled up Google and typed in my name, and wouldn’t you know it, the first thing that came up was my website, alabamabluesman.com.

She clicked on it and found the "Diary of a Bluesman" page. She seemed intrigued. Now, here’s the thing—I don’t write in this diary every day. To be honest, sometimes it’s weeks, maybe even months before I feel like jotting something down. That’s just how I’ve always been with diaries. When you hear the word “diary,” it feels like something you should be updating daily, doesn’t it? But my life... well, it’s hard to imagine sharing the day-to-day details with the whole world.

So, today, while I’m out on my daily walk, I figured I’d make some notes. I may not always know what to say, but here’s what’s on my mind: I’m glad to be alive. The blues is alive and well. It’s been a wild ride lately, with so much going on in the world, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that we’ve got to keep pushing to do better.

So that’s my entry for today. What about you? Do you keep a diary? Do you make regular entries, or is it more like me—whenever the mood strikes? Let me know in the comments. Let’s keep the conversation going.

Till next time, keep the blues alive and do better.
