Good morning Blues people . Three or four years ago, I had a man ask me about playing a party for him and he wanted to pay me with Bitcoin. Instead of real dollars. I turned him down. I told him I didn't want that shit . He offered 100 more dollars and offered me $600 in Bitcoin if I would play his party for him. I turned it down because I didn't have any idea what a friggin 'Bitcoin was.” Just pay me in regular money” I told him. He said he would rather pay me with Bitcoin. So I turned down the gig. Well, that was three or four years ago. Now, from my best calculation, that Bitcoin would be worth $2,500 If I had taken it.
Since that time, I've run into several opportunities to get involved with Bitcoin. I even had one man come to take me to lunch and talk to me about cryptocurrency and alternative currencies. Things that I didn't want to get involved in or didn't understand. I even have friends who trade in it to some degree, but it's never been anything I personally do.
I've been live streaming for a while. When I first started live streaming back in 2015, there was a platform called BLAB. I met people there, of course, on that platform, and then it closed down and we moved to another platform called Periscope. And I stayed there for a while, building 1000s of fans there. And eventually it closed down. I moved to another one called Busker. Busker was a great platform. But eventually it closed down and now I'm on TikTok with hundreds of 1000s of fans. And its beginning to make sense to me. If it were possible to offer those fans a token of some type that gave a sense of ownership to rise above the platform. In other words, give them a sense of ownership beyond the platform itself. And that's the concept of a social token.
Some people call it web 3.0. I'm still trying to understand it, but it seems like it allows a fan to have a vested interest in the artist or the movement. Because he actually owns a token, and that token has the opportunity to increase in value. So in other words, he has an interest in the token and interest in the entity. This is more than a follow or like on the page.
Hopefully, very soon, I'll be able to launch my own social token. Yeah, I'm gonna take a step over into the crypto and I'm gonna invite blues fans to take a step up to the web 3.0 And let's see if we can get crypto to come over into the Bluesaverse.
