I had this song idea in mind a couple of days ago . It came to me in the evening just before I was going to bed . I didnt write it down , I just thought I would wait until tomorrow to make a note . As I lay there in bed I was wondering if I would still have it in the morning . Well next morning the first thing I did was recall it . I got out a notebook and wrote the song ideas in it . The ideas just flowed into me and I recorded them as they flowed . I think all songs come from a higher place, Our role as a songwriter is simply to select and record the ideas that come . Its like the song writes itself when that happens.
Lots of decisions go into a song , Lots of decisions about this woid or that one , this rhyme or that , Its like dipping water from a river of thought , a cup here and a cup there. And pretty soon the cup runneth over with a song.I think when we just accept what flows thru us the songs just write themselves. What do you think ?
